Frequently asked questions and guides.

To buy cryptocurrency, navigate to the homepage or "Buy Crypto" section. Select your desired coin and payment method, then choose an offer from the list. Follow the instructions provided by the seller to complete the trade.

To sell cryptocurrency, go to the "Sell Crypto" section. You can also create your own offer to set your own rates and terms. Ensure you have funded your wallet before opening a trade.

We have a 3-tier verification system. Tier 1 requires email verification. Tier 2 requires basic profile information. Tier 3 requires ID verification for higher limits.

Protecting Your Account

Security is our top priority at SnapTrade.Exchange. Follow these steps to keep your account safe:

  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Go to Settings and set up Google Authenticator. This adds a critical layer of security.

  • Use a Strong Password: Create a unique password that you don't use on other sites. Use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.

  • Verify URLs: Always check that you are on snaptrade.exchange before logging in. Phishing sites often mimic our design.

  • Never Share Your Password: SnapTrade support will NEVER ask for your password or 2FA codes.

How to Trade Safely

P2P trading puts you in control, but it requires vigilance. Here are key rules for safe trading:

  • Keep Everything on SnapTrade: Never communicate outside the platform (e.g., WhatsApp, Telegram). We cannot help you if the conversation happens elsewhere.

  • Wait for Escrow: As a buyer, never send payment until you see the trade status is 'Active' and the crypto is held in escrow.

  • Verify Payments (Sellers): Always log into your bank or payment account to verify the funds are actually received. Do NOT rely on screenshots or emails sent by the buyer.

  • Mark as Paid: As a buyer, ensure you click 'I have paid' immediately after sending funds to prevent the trade from timing out.

What is Escrow?

Escrow is a safety mechanism where SnapTrade temporarily holds the seller's cryptocurrency during a trade. It protects both parties:

  1. Trade Starts: The seller's crypto is locked in our secure escrow.

  2. Payment Sent: The buyer sends payment directly to the seller.

  3. Release: Once the seller confirms receipt, they release the crypto from escrow to the buyer's wallet.

If there is a disagreement, our support team can review the trade chat and evidence to release the escrow to the rightful owner.

How Disputes Work

If a trade goes wrong, you can open a dispute. This alerts our moderators to intervene.

  • When to Dispute: If a buyer marked as paid but you haven't received funds, or if a seller is unresponsive after you paid.

  • Evidence: Be ready to upload proof of payment (PDF bank statements, transaction IDs).

  • The Process: A moderator will join the chat, review the evidence, and make a final decision to release the crypto to the buyer or refund the seller.

Accepted Payment Methods

We support a wide range of payment methods including Bank Transfers, Online Wallets (PayPal, Zelle, Cash App), and Gift Cards.

Note for Gift Cards: These trades are considered high-risk. Always verify the card balance immediately before releasing crypto. Once crypto is released, it cannot be reversed.
